Notes
Italianate brownstone townhouse built in 1879, and situated just north of Prospect Park in Prospect Heights. The townhouse has recently undergone a four year gut renovation and historic restoration, while maintaining the integrity of the original house. The owner modernized where necessary, while restoring every salvageable detail.
The decorative style is a mixture of Marie Antoinette meets Alice and Wonderland, with 1960’s rock and roll bohemian vibes. The house features fabrics and wallpaper sourced from foreign open air markets from India and the Silk Road in China, to Romania to the south of France. The house has an art studio, traditional library, dressing room, 3.5 bathrooms and five working wood-burning fireplaces. The kitchen features rose quartz countertops, a pink SMEG fridge and toaster, and an original coal burning stove made in 1760 (no longer in operation, but remains as a nod to the original design).
The backyard has an outdoor deck with 100-year-old footed bathtub and a spiral staircase.
