Historic Beaux Arts mansion located an hour from Manhattan. Built between 1897 and 1903, it was designed by the architectural firm of Carrère and Hastings, who also were responsible for the main branch of the New York Public Library and numerous other prominent structures. Set high on a hilltop overlooking Ravine Lake, the mansion is 62,000 square feet. The interiors, exterior, grounds and landscape architectural features are exceptional for their classical proportions and beauty of workmanship. Currently undergoing a meticulous restoration–a process which does not interfere with location shoots.
Grand staircase, marble, ballroom, chandeliers, arched doorways, crown molding, antique, wood floors, limestone, modern chefs kitchen, reflecting pool, tree lined driveway, big yard, statues, pond.
Restrictions:
Areas of use to be determined in advance, floors protected, etc
No A/C, however, there is an old central fan system that recirculates the air. Location stays naturally cool as long as door remains closed.
Furniture : all has been removed from the first floor for photo shoots. If you would like a list of prop rentals please ask and will send
From time to time there may be an occasional couch or chairs but the main floor is primarily empty for the use of photo shoots.
No personal items or furniture may be touched without site rep approval. Furniture may not be used without permission and rental fees.
No smoking in house or around the property whatsoever except in small area located directly in front of house fines will apply. $1000 per smoker off area
Lawn Sprinkler System – there are old pipes along driveway to be aware of
If smoke is to be used please let manager know so alarm can be off
Doors and windows are not to be opened except by site manager the doors are very old and secured and easily damage
Scouting mandatory; porta-potties mandatory for all shoots
Basement is completely off limits at all times, no one may enter that area for any reason
