This vintage and rustic artist loft is the entire top floor and roof of a former potato chip factory, built in 1930. It retains all the charms, quirkiness, and classic appeal from the 1980s when Greenpoint was the wild frontier of New York artist live-work space. Lots of natural light and windows throughout the loft. Raw industrial elements such as brick (exposed and white washed), wooden beams, 12 foot ceilings and original factory accents, including apocalypse style trap doors. Decorated with a warm but minimalistic aesthetic and a focus on multi use spaces.
Half of the loft is residential including a master bedroom with private roof access, kitchen/dining room and guest room/work space. The other half is blank and wide open studio space.
Rentals include access to folding chairs, music stands, ladders, and wardrobe racks.
Small bathroom available for crews of less than 25. Portable bathroom or motorhome is required for larger crews.
Space can be rented as a whole or as individual spaces based on shoot needs.
Air conditioning in studios and bedroom.
Restrictions:
Walk through recommended. Security deposit may be required depending on scope of project.
No elevator – stairwell to 3rd floor. No smoking allowed.
Any changes to the space must be requested in writing in advance and returned to original state before the completion of the rental period.
Requests to nail into, or paint walls requires prior approval from owner.
